Chrome crosshead basin tap in a Lancing bathroom

Bathrooms for Steyning homes

Steyning has been a town since Saxon times, and plenty of its houses have walls that are not quite straight. We design and fit bathrooms that suit the house they are in, from our showroom about 15 minutes away along the A283.

Classic fittings, planned for older rooms

Steyning sits at the north end of the Adur gap in the South Downs, with Bramber and Upper Beeding just across the river. A bathroom in an older house brings its own questions: thick walls, uneven floors, small windows and pipework that has been moved more than once.

We start with a visit to the house. We measure the room, look at where the soil pipe and waste can run, check the hot water supply and talk about what the room has to do on a busy morning. The visit and the measure are at no charge.

Traditional pieces suit a lot of these rooms. Crosshead taps, a high-level cistern, a tall towel radiator with a column panel and a vanity in a deep finish look right in a cottage and still work every day. If you would rather have a cleaner, more modern bathroom, we design those too, and the planning starts in the same place.

Traditional details in a Lancing bathroom

This is a recent bathroom we designed and fitted in Lancing, about 15 minutes from Steyning by car. The family wanted a calm room with storage and practicality thought through from the start.

We designed and installed the whole room. Crosshead brassware on the basin and bath, a high-level cistern and a chrome towel radiator with a cream column panel give it a classic look, while soft grey stone-effect walls keep it light.

It shows how traditional fittings sit in a family bathroom that is used every day, which is the question most older houses raise.

Three stages, one team

  • Measured at home

We visit the house in Steyning, measure the room and look at the plumbing, the floor and the access. There is no charge for the visit or the measure.

  • Drawn in 3D

You see the layout, tiles, vanity and lighting together before anything is ordered, with an itemised quotation for each product and each stage of the work.

  • Fitted through to handover

Our locally based installers do the whole job, from strip-out to handover. If you already have a fitter you trust, we can design and supply the bathroom for them instead.

Our bathrooms page shows the finishes and brassware we work with. We have also adapted an in-frame kitchen in Steyning, which you can read about on our page for kitchens in Steyning, and if the living room is next, see our media walls.
